With a little bit of spare time this morning, I quickly shot out to Milnerton Sewage Works to see if I could find any new species for my challenge. There were still a number of really common species that I needed to see and get photos of and, fortunately, I was able to get a few of these. With not having the opportunity to have spent a lot of time in the field so far this year, its amazing how many common species I have yet to connect with! Birdwise, the most exciting find of the morning was a Burchell's Coucal. This is not an uncommon bird in the Cape, but is rather unusual for this area and it has certainly been a while since I have seen one here. I also completed another atlas card for the area, something else which I have not had too much opportunity to do recently.
