Stony Point

Having received news of a Southern Elephant Seal that had come ashore at Stony Point in Betty's Bay, Margaret and I joined Sion and Tiana Stanton and their daughters and shot out in the afternoon to see if we could find the animal. On arrival, it was very easy to find lying on the rocks near the start of the boardwalk to the penguin colony. We spent a bit of time photographing it and then headed off to enjoy the penguins and whatever else we could find. The afternoon light was awesome and we hung around until the sun dipped behind the mountains and then headed off to dinner in Gordon's Bay before going home.
